On the 1st of January 1966 mother Tončka and father Feliks have opened a pub in the centre of Bistrica ob Sotli. Their hard-working, honesty and friendliness gradually attracted more and more guests. In the 70s they have started to cook, at first only lunch was available, later followed by tourist menus as the pilgrims route to Sv. gore and Kumrovec were becoming a very popular tourist attractions
I started to work behind the bar when I was in primary school. In 1985 when I finished obligatory military training, I became more professionally involved with the inn and hospitality. My wife Breda has joined my team in 1988. Although she had her own career and was bringing up our children Tjaša and Nejc, she was very supportive and helpful.
Today, in our kitchen, we give priority to local products. The ingredients, which are used in food preparation process must be seasonal and fresh. We have to say thanks to our suppliers for their support and to our great co-workers who came to us and still believe in us. We are aware of how important link of the chain people are. They believe in us and together we are creating a story.
Work day at Inn Kunst starts at 7 o'clock in the morning when Julija comes and starts preparing breakfast for our first guests. These guests are usually on a business trip or just travelling and our hotel is their rest stop. In the kitchen we prepare the pots, roll up sleeves, put the pans on the gas and start working on business lunches to which we like to dedicate special attention.
